Project // Ghyslain Chocolatier

To broaden the reach of a boutique chocolatier and to improve its profitability (moving from wholesale to retail), we first conducted comprehensive brand analysis to unearth Ghyslain’s unique essence: the good life. Then we developed the brand’s look and feel, inspired by the good life in provincial France, where life’s indulgences are part of daily life.
 
Packaging was developed with economy in mind – yet it had to represent the product’s premium quality. Branded base boxes were accompanied by product-specific over-wraps, then sealed with a branded sticker. From the modular packaging system to store signage, product catalogs, event marketing, magazine advertising, trade show and interior design recommendations, our goal was to create a continuous brand expression.
 
Ghyslain was pleased with the results. Corporate gift sales grew 32% over the prior year, and the number of customers ordering more than doubled. Existing customers increased orders by 21% with a total of 72% of prior customers re-ordering. In 2011, Ghyslain’s fourth location will open in Louisville, Kentucky.
